Vernburg

We all have fond memories of Dean Winona Vernberg

She was instrumental in establishing the School of Public Health and served as its Dean until 1996.  She was an exemplary educator and mentor who cared deeply about her students, and she was a passionate advocate for public health and for our school.  Dr. Vernberg had a major influence on our careers and our lives as students.  We are saddened to tell you of her death on December 29, 2008.

When she retired, the Winona Vernberg Fellowship Fund was established in her honor.  Please join us now in supporting this fellowship fund as a tribute to a great friend, and as a way of saying “thank you.”  During difficult economic times financial assistance for our students is critical.  A gift of any size would be appreciated.

Checks should be made payable to the USC Educational Foundation, designated for the “Vernberg Fellowship Fund,” and sent to the Development Office, Arnold School of Public Health, 800 Sumter Street, Columbia, SC 29208.
