Arnold School of Public Health graduate students Andrew O. Johnson of
Little Mountain and Bankole Olatosi of Nigeria are recipients of the
LaVonne Straub Award for Best Student Paper, given by the National Rural
Health Association.
Johnson was recognized for his study on substance abuse treatment
facilities for people living in rural areas, and Olatosi was honored for
his study on prescription drug use among rural residents. Both are
seeking doctoral degrees from USC's Department of Health Services Policy
and Management.
Johnson earned bachelor's degrees in biology and music and a master's
degree in health administration from USC. Olatosi earned his master's
degree in public health from the University of Minnesota and works in
the S.C. Rural Health Research Center.
This is the fourth consecutive year that USC graduate students have
received the National Rural Health Association's award for student
papers. |
