Faculty, staff, students, and friends of the Arnold School of Public Health are invited to a Friday, March 26, pancake brunch in support of the American Cancer Society.

Sponsored by the Dean’s Student Advisory Council (DSAC), the breakfast will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. at the kitchen in the Public Health Research Center.

Brunch includes pancakes, sausage, and fruit juice for $5 a plate. While tickets may be purchased at the door, DSAC members encourage purchasing them in advance from departmental DSAC representatives or the Office of Student and Alumni Services in HESC 112.

In addition to brunch tickets, student representatives are selling luminary bags “In Honor of” or “In Memory of” someone who has battled cancer. Forms and supplies to decorate the luminary bags will be available at the breakfast.

Students will also hold a Penny War to raise additional money for the school's team. "Change for a Cure" will take place on Monday, March 29 - Friday, April 2. Each DSAC representative will place a collection can in a central location for each department.

The breakfast and Penny War are two of several activities tied to the Friday, April 16, Relay for Life at the Blatt PE Center’s field.

Teams of people will camp out at the field and take turns walking or running around a track. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.

Last year, Arnold School students, faculty, and staff raised $1,982.72 during the Relay drive.
