Arnold School graduate students are winners!

Eleven students from the Arnold School of Public Health received honors in the 2011 Graduate School Awards Program.

First place winners received a cash prize of $500 and second place winners received $250. A total of 153 students from throughout the University's campus were enrolled in the competition.

Graduate Student Day, sponsored by The Graduate School, provides graduate students an opportunity to present their scholarly and creative work to the university and larger community.

In the poster presentations, Eva Preisner from the Department Environmental Health Sciences won first place; Jamelle Ellis, also of ENHS, received an honorable mention.

Winston Abara of the Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior won a second place award in his poster presentation session in social and behavioral sciences.

Keri Eisenhower of the Department of Communication Science and Disorders won a second place award for her poster presentation in the category of social and behavioral sciences.

Nelis Soto-Ramirez of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics won first place for his poster presentation in the category of health and life sciences.

Shannon Cornelius from Exercise Science won a second place in the poster presentation category of health and life sciences, while Jennifaye Green also from Exercise Science won an honorable mention for her poster presentation in the same group.

In the oral presentations, Exercise Science students Jennifer Steiner and Denise Peters won first and second place awards, respectively, in the group that included environmental health; health promotion, education, and behavior; and health policy.

Benjamin Gordon of Exercise Science won an honorable mention in the oral presentations for the biological, biomedical, and exercise science group.

India Rose of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior won an honorable mention in the environmental health; health promotion, education, and behavior; and health policy category of competition.
