Collections will continue until Dec. 3

November 4, 2009

The Arnold School of Public Health Student Association is again collecting canned food and other items for the Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Harvest Hope is one of the largest organizations of its kind in South Carolina. It provides nutritious food and related products to more than 400 non-profit member agencies in 20 Midlands area counties.

Most people are feeling the financial crunch these days, but for those truly in need, the down-sloping economy can be downright dangerous. With the holiday season approaching, officials at Harvest Hope Food Bank expect it to be one of the most challenging in years.

Collection barrels will be placed in the first floor of the Health Sciences Building, the first floor lobby of the Public Health Research Center and the USC Speech and Hearing Center at Middleburg.

The final day for donations will be Dec. 3.

Off-campus centers may collect items within their area and request help from the Dean’s Student Advisory Council to have the donations delivered to the collection barrels.
