Mr. and Mrs. Arnold

Nominations are being accepted for the top two alumni awards presented annually by the Arnold School of Public Health.

A nomination form for the Norman J. Arnold Medal and the Gerry Sue Arnold Alumni Award is available to download.

The alumni awards are presented annually in honor of the Arnolds who made a major gift in 2000 to endow the University of South Carolina’s School of Public Health, which now bears Norman Arnold’s name.

The Norman J. Arnold Metal honors an alumnus who has been working in the field of public health for 10 years or more, has had a positive impact on the profession and on the health of an identified community or population, and has brought recognition to the Arnold School. It carries a cash award of $2,500 and a bronze medal.

The Gerry Sue Arnold Medal honors an alumnus who graduated less than 10 years prior to receipt of the award and whose work has made a difference to the profession and in the health of an identified community or population. It has a cash award of $2,500 and a commemorative plaque.

Nominations can be made by faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the Arnold School of Public Health. Nominations will close at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26. Late submissions will not be considered.
