Jeffrey Keith Mattison Outstanding Student Achievement Award

This award is presented each year to a Master’s level graduating student who best exemplifies the special characteristics of Jeffrey Keith Mattison, an Epidemiology and Biostatistics student who passed away in the fall of 1987, only weeks into his graduate program of study.

During his brief time at the Arnold School of Public Health, Jeffrey impressed everyone with his easy acceptance of the many challenges facing him and his ability to initiate new ideas. To remember his life, his initiative, and his motivation for work in public health, the Student Public Health Association created the Jeffrey Keith Mattison Outstanding Student Achievement Award.

This award, open to students in all Arnold School of Public Health departments, will recognize the graduating Master’s degree student who, in a combination of service, leadership, and/or personal example, exemplifies many of the qualities that made Jeffrey special.

The student’s interest and dedication to public health through service activities, as well as the personal characteristics that would contribute to having an impact in public health, are important aspects of this award.

This award will be presented at the Arnold School of Public Health Hooding Ceremony.
