NHLBI funds R21 for research testing integrated recall for interviewing children about diet and activity at school
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of NIH recently awarded Dr. Suzi Baxter and CPARG PI, Dr. Russ Pate, an R21 for their research project titled "Integrated Recall of Diet and Physical Activity in Children." This project will test an integrated recall for interviewing children about both dietary intake and physical activity at school. An integrated recall (concerning both dietary intake and physical activity) could enhance children’s ability to report information by facilitating correct episodic memories rather than semantic (general) memory. Results of this study should provide future school-based obesity prevention and health promotion studies with a time-efficient approach to interview children about dietary intake and physical activity that occur at school.
